General description

MAP激酶激酶（MAPKK、MEK1和MEK2）是对苏氨酸/酪氨酸残基双磷酸化激活底物的酶家族成员。MEK1和MEK2的催化结构域有86%的同源性。MEK1/2先被丝裂原刺激细胞中的Raf-1激酶活化， MEK1/2随后激活ERK1/2，进而激活多个下游靶标，参与细胞增殖、凋亡和移动。除了ERK1/2，可能还有其他非催化性的MEK1/2效应子。MEK的各种亚型在中枢神经系统、胸腺、脾脏、心脏、肺和肾脏中广泛表达。活性MEK1/2是NIH3T3细胞转化和PC-12细胞分化的充分条件。

Application
