General description
人前白蛋白是18号染色体的产物。它是一种血清蛋白，主要在肝脏中合成。 它是一种四聚体蛋白，分子量为55 kDa。人前白蛋白由非共价结合的四个相同的单体（127个氨基酸残基）组成，排列成对称的四面体。
Application
前白蛋白（来自人血浆）已用作免疫沉淀的阳性对照作为火箭免疫电泳法定量分析脑脊液的参考标准品。
人前白蛋白用于研究肺癌血清中甲状腺素运载蛋白表达的下调。
Biochem/physiol Actions
前白蛋白水平是营养不良的指示剂，而且可能受到炎症反应调节。在慢性肾衰竭患者的透析期间，它被视为蛋白质能量营养不良(PEM)的潜在标志物。低水平的前蛋白会导致心脏衰竭(HF)风险提高。
