General description
单克隆抗p53（小鼠IgG2a同种型）来源于小鼠骨髓瘤细胞（SP2细胞）和重组人野生型p53免疫的BALB/c小鼠脾细胞融合产生的DO-1杂交瘤 。 p53基因位于人染色体17p上。该基因编码在正常组织中表达的肿瘤抑制蛋白。

Biochem/physiol Actions
p53肿瘤抑制蛋白在细胞对DNA损伤和其他基因组畸变的反应中很重要。p53蛋白的升高会诱导包括p21awf1在内的多个基因的转录激活。研究表明野生型p53是一种序列特异性转录因子，可以直接与各种细胞和病毒蛋白相互作用。完整的p53功能对于维持细胞的非致瘤表型必不可少。p53在抑制癌症的发展、细胞周期调节和CAK激酶活性的调节中起着关键作用。
小鼠抗（p53）抗体可与人类（p53）发生特异性反应。
