General description

葡萄球菌α-毒素是一种33kD的水溶性单一多肽,是金黄色葡萄菌分泌的细胞毒性物质。这种蛋白具有膜损伤属性,可导致红细胞溶解。因此,它也被称为致死性溶血毒素或α-溶血素。葡萄球菌α-毒素抗体可用于毒素-膜相互作用的研究。兔抗葡萄球菌α-毒素抗体可与葡萄球菌α-毒素发生特异性反应,但不与葡萄球菌肠毒素A、霍乱毒素或假单胞菌外毒素A反应。
