应用

D-(+)-海藻糖二水合物可用于在慢速冷冻法中冷冻兔卵母细胞。它可用于体外成熟卵母细胞的固体表面玻璃化(SSV)。它在多种细胞冷冻培养基中适合用作冷冻保护剂。

生化/生理作用

海藻糖对于植物的胚发生、碳代谢、光合作用和开花至关重要。它主要存在于支持脱水生物(无水生活)的物种中。它可作为微生物中的碳水化合物储备,并保护它们免受不利条件的影响,如热、冷、脱水、干燥和氧化。海藻糖可以作为影响蛋白质折叠的化学伴侣。它可在体外防止淀粉样蛋白的产生和 β-积聚。在亨廷顿蛋白聚集中也观察到了海藻糖的类似作用。因此,它可以作为阿尔茨海默氏′病和亨廷顿′病的保护剂。

    This product is not tested for the presence or absence of fluorescent impurities.

    Yes, it should work as a substitute for protein in a freezing media.  It is commonly used at a final concentration of 5% (50 mg/mL).  Alternatively, one could use methylcellulose.
