General description
αβ-微管蛋白是微管的组成部分，几乎存在于所有真核细胞中。
α/β-微管蛋白主要作为可溶性（约100-110kDa） α-微管蛋白异二聚体和 β-微管蛋白同型体或作为聚合体存在于组装的微管中。β-微管蛋白III（也称为 β-4链）存在于脑和背根神经节中，且似乎定位在中枢和外周神经系统的神经元中。β-微管蛋白III也存在于睾丸支持细胞、精子尾部、某些肺细胞和一些明显的乳腺基质细胞中。
