一般描述

脱铁转铁蛋白(aTF)可以补充铁或用于结合培养基中存在的游离铁,它还可用于将铁运输到哺乳动物细胞中。

应用

脱铁转铁蛋白已作为补充剂:
  • 用于杜氏改良Eagle培养基/HamF12(DMEM/F-12),以培养人肾上腺皮质癌细胞

  • 收集NCSU23培养基培养猪卵巢腔前卵泡

生化/生理作用

脱铁转铁蛋白(aTF)是一种内源性铁螯合剂,通过清除游离铁和防止有毒活性氧(ROS)的形成对宿主起到保护作用。它对地中海贫血有治疗作用。铁释放后,受体结合的脱铁转铁蛋白到达细胞表面,而不是被运输到溶酶体降解。细胞表面具有中性的pH值,促进脱铁转铁蛋白从受体释放,在此处再次循环并结合额外的铁,以进一步将铁传递到细胞。
