General description

Biochem/physiol Actions
色氨酸羟化酶1基因(TPH1)催化5-羟色氨酸的合成,而5-羟色氨酸是神经递质5-羟色胺的前体。基因表达的变化会影响反应抑制过程中前额叶皮层的激活。TPH1基因的突变会导致精神分裂症,女性肠易激综合征(IBS),自杀行为和抑郁症。编码的蛋白质在调节心血管功能中起着至关重要的作用。
