Alpha-1-antitrypsin (UniProt: P01009; also known as Alpha-1 protease inhibitor, Alpha-1-antiproteinase, Serpin A1) is encoded by the SERPINA1 (also known as AAT, PI) gene (Gene ID: 5265) in human. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the serpin family and is a strong serine protease inhibitor whose targets include elastase, plasmin, thrombin, trypsin, chymotrypsin, and plasminogen activator. Its pivotal role is to protect lower respiratory tract against proteolytic destruction by human leukocyte elastase. SERPINA protein is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-24), which is subsequently cleaved off to produce the mature protein. It is synthesized mainly in the liver and secreted to the bloodstream. It is predominantly found in the plasma, extracellular space, and extracellular matrix. Three Isoforms of -1-antitrypsin have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. Mutation in AAT gene will reduce the serum concentration of -1-antitrypsin and hence increase the risk of emphysema or liver disease. Recent studies suggest that AAT also exhibits anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory functions, expanding its relevance beyond traditional protease inhibition. The complex formation of fatty acids or lipoproteins with native or modified AAT impacts its protease inhibitory action as well as its anti-inflammatory properties. Clone 1K23 is a ZooMAb® recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically detects 1-Antitrypsin. It targets an epitope within 23 amino acids from the Internal region.
外形
Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
