Clone 3K22 is a ZooMAb rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects Calretinin. It targets an epitope with in the internal region.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1000 dilution from a representative lot detected Calretinin in rat and human brain tissue lysate.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected Calretinin in PC12 cells.

Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:400 dilution from a representative lot detected Calretinin in human cerebral cortex tissue sections.

Calretinin (UniProt: P47728; also known as CR) is encoded by the Calb2 gene (Gene ID: 117059) in rat. Calretinin belongs to the calbindin protein family and acts as a calcium-binding protein. It is expressed in both central and peripheral nervous system and is found abundantly in auditory neurons. It is involved in regulating cytosolic calcium ion concentrations and has six calcium-binding domains known as EF-hands. Its expression is shown to be regulated at the level of transcription by nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF-1) and E2F2 transcription factors. In rat striatum calretinin neurons form a distinct subset of medium-sized (7- 20 μm), aspiny, GABAergic interneurons. Calretinin can also serve as an important differential diagnostic tool for cystic and solid ameloblastic tumors. Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
