General description
Ethylamine, also known as ethanamine is commonly employed as a precursor in the synthesis of organic compounds. It is a corrosive primary amine, which is found naturally in many vegetables and fruits. It is also present as a constituent of tobacco smoke. Ethylamine is known to affect the lungs and kidney when a person is exposed to it.
Application
Ethylamine can be used as a reagent:
- In the hydroamination reaction to prepare ethylamine derivatives by addition reaction with alkynes using the Ind2TiMe2 catalyst.
- To prepare Schiff base ligands, which are reacted with various metal cations to obtain mono- or binuclear ethylamine metal complexes.
- To synthesize ethylamine-modified montmorillonite, which is used as a novel material for the removal of radiocesium from radioactive wastewater.
Packaging
Supplied in a Sure/Pac™ cylinder and has a 316 stainless steel needle valve with a male 1/4" NPTF outlet thread installed . Before using the cylinder, ensure that the valve is closed, then remove the galvanized steel hex cap that seals the outlet valve.
