General description

Napropamide is a soil herbicide, which can be either sprayed on the surface or incorporated. It can be mainly used for weed control management.
Phenanthrene can be synthesized, via a multi-step synthesis process, using Haworth method involving naphthalene and succinic anhydride as the starting materials. It can undergo chlorination in acetic acid to form a mixture of cis- and trans-9,10-dichloro-9,10-dihydrophenanthrenes as the major products.
