General description

1-(Trimethylsiloxy)cyclohexene undergoes Michael addition reaction with methyl vinyl ketone in the presence of dibutyltin bis(triflate).

Application

1-(Trimethylsiloxy)cyclohexene was used in one-pot synthesis of Δ1,9- octalone. It is intermediate to many complex compounds including natural products.
