Thallium acetate is a known neurotoxic agent. In this study, we investigated the mechanisms by which thallium acetate induces cell cycle arrest and cell apoptosis in cultured LC6 glioma cells. Exposure of C6 glioma cells to thallium acetate decreased cell

Frequencies and amplitudes of miniature endplate potentials (MEPP's) were recorded from neuromuscular junctions of the rat phrenic nerve-diaphragm preparation in vitro. Superfusion of the preparations with Ringer solution containing thallium acetate (Tlac) gradually increased the frequency of MEPP's by a

The effect of alpha-tocopherol on the lipid fluidity of porcine intestinal brush-border membranes was studied using pyrene as a fluorescent probe. Addition of alpha-tocopherol to the medium decreased fluorescence intensity and lifetime, but increased the fluorescence polarization of pyrene-labeled membranes.
