General description

Tricine is one of the Good′s buffers that derives its name from tris and glycine. It has a pKa value of 7.8 and commonly used in animal tissue culture. It is a very useful buffer for the separation of small proteins in the range of 1 to 100 kDa.

Application

Tricine is a buffer useful in the physiological pH range 7.4-8.8 and pKa=8.15 at 20°C. It can also be used in many electrophoretic techniques for the analysis of proteins.
Buffer component for separation of low molecular weight peptides.
