General description

This strong base dissociates into calcium and hydroxyl ions in an aqueous solution.

Application

Calcium hydroxide may be used for the preparation of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite by sonochemical technique.Ca(OH)2 may be used as a catayst in the pyrolysis of pinewood in a fixed bed reactor.
