General description
Strontium iodide is an ionic deliquescent compound with relatively high density, optical clarity, and high scintillation light yield. It is widely used in the field of perovskite solar cells and gamma radiation detectors.
Application
Strontium iodide can be used as a dopant in methylammonium lead iodide perovskite films. The addition of Sr2+ increases the charge carrier collection efficiency of solar cells resulting in very high fill factors.
It can be used as a precursor to prepare high-light yield scintillators with excellent X-ray and gamma-ray detection properties.
