General description
Tridecafluorohexane-1-sulfonic acid potassium salt (PFHxS), also known as potassium perfluorohexanesulfonate, is a perfluorochemical (PFC) that belongs to the perfluoroalkyl sulfonates group. Its presence as a contaminant in the effluents of Taiwanese industrial wastewater treatment plant (IWWTP) and municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWWTPs) has been evaluated. It has been detected in the human serum samples by on-line solid-phase extraction (SPE) method coupled to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).

We have developed an on-line solid-phase extraction (SPE) method coupled to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) for measuring trace levels of 18 perfluorinated chemicals (3 perfluorosulfonates, 8 perfluorocarboxylates, 7 perfluorosulfonamides) in serum. Without protein precipitation, only dilution with
