General description
Trimethylamine is a tertiary amine used as a versatile building block in organic synthesis to produce choline chloride, surfactants and solvents, rubber chemicals, tetramethylammonium hydroxide, cationic starches, phase transfer catalysts, ion-exchange resins, and some basic dyes.
Application
Trimethylamine can be used as:
- A base in dehydrochlorinations, nucleophilic substitutions, 1,4-additions, and aldol-type condensation reactions.
- A reactant for the preparation of trimethylamine-based dicationic ionic liquids for the extraction of phenolic compounds from oil mixtures.
Packaging
500ml high pressure aluminum cylinder equipped with a stainless steel valve according to DIN 477-1.
