General description

The product is a second generation (G2) Buchwald precatalyst. The G2 precatalysts are improved form of G1 precatalysts. They are formed by substituting the phenethylamine based backbone of the G1 complex with a biphenyl-based ligand. This modification leads to the formation of active Pd species at room temperature with weak bases. Buchwald precatalysts are air, moisture and thermally-stable. It is highly useful in cross-coupling reactions.
