General description

Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) is hygroscopic, brittle, and colorless with Tg at nearly 106 °C. At temperatures above 200-250 °C, PAA loses water and to become an insoluble cross-linked polymer anhydride. The solubility of dried PAA in water increases with an increase in temperature. Concentrated solutions of PAA in water are thixotropic in nature.
