General description

Anhydrous rhodium(III)sulfate is a reddish yellow crystalline solid. At 400°C, rhodium metal and sulfuric acid are used to produce the anhydrous form.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for catalytic efficiency. Click here for more information.

Application

Rhodium(III)sulfate is a plating reagent and noble metal additive. It is used as a reducing agent in metal surface analysis and as an oxidation catalyst in organic reactions.Furthermore, because of its potential for usage in fuel cells, Rhodium(III)sulfate is added to Platinum electrocatalyst to form Pt/Rh alloy in the research of ethanol oxidation. It demonstrates the ability to break the C-C bond and promotes the breaking of the C-H bond.

Rhodium(III)sulfate is also used with Platinum to form Pt/Rh alloy for highly corrosion resistant coatings on a metal substrate stainless steel (SS304). The alloy of Pt/Rh has been also used study the MB dye degaradtion using photocatalysis method.
