General description

Our battery grade sodium tetrafluoroborate (NaBF4) is a high-purity, anhydrous compound, synthesized carefully to minimize trace metals and other impurities. The crystalline NaBF4 is soluble in carbonates and glymes used in battery electrolytes, like ethylene carbonate and dimethyl carbonate.
Sodium Tetrafluoroborate is an important electrolyte salt for sodium-ion batteries, offering high ionic conductivity and thermal stability. Its use supports greener technologies by enabling safer, cost-effective, and sustainable energy storage solutions with reduced reliance on scarce lithium resources, promoting environmentally friendly battery development. Application

Sodium tetrafluoroborate is used in sodium-ion battery research in liquid electrolyte formulations as an electrolytic salt or as an additive. It is intended to optimize the performance and stability of sodium-ion batteries. It has been shown to form stable fluorine-rich solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) and cathode-electrolyte interphase (CEI), which improves the efficiency of sodium metal deposition and dissolution and leads to high cycling stability even at high voltages.
