Application

It serves as a fluxing agent and densifier that lowers the melting point of ceramic materials, including solid electrolytes like LLZO. Additionally, lithium metasilicate can be generated in-situ as a coating layer for cathode active powders using tetraethyl orthosilicate (#333859) to enhance the surface electrolyte interphase. In the construction sector, Li₂SiO₃ functions as a concrete densifier and admixture to prevent alkali–silica reaction (ASR), thereby improving the durability and impermeability of structures.
