Application
Lithium hydroxide is used in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and lithium-sulfur batteries, primarily in the synthesis of cathodes and electrolytes. The anhydrous form of lithium hydroxide enhances the efficiency of material synthesis and helps reduce production costs in industrial applications. Lithium hydroxide is used to absorb carbon dioxide in enclosed environments, such as submarines, spacecraft, and underwater habitats. Its low impurity content makes it ideal for sensitive life-support systems. Lithium hydroxide (LiOH) is used in the primary coolant of Western-style Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) to control pH, helping to balance the addition of boron in the form of boric acid (H3BO3).
Features and Benefits
Lithium hydroxide (LiOH) anhydrous Redi-Dri™is designed for high end research applications with stringent control of water content and trace metal impurities. The innovative Redi-Dri™ technology ensures that the compound remains free-flowing and non-caking, even in humid environments that typically cause clumping. This enhances ease of handling and measurement, making it ideal for both research and industrial applications.
General description
Lithium hydroxide (Li(OH)) is a weak alkali, hygroscopic material which is soluble in water. It comes in white powdered form. We offer Li(OH) anhydrous, Redi-Dri™ which is free-flowing, with a purity of 99.9% and controlled trace metal content of ≤ 1500.0 ppm.
