General description
Rubidium chloride is an alkali metal halide saltand an excellent water-soluble crystalline rubidium source. It is widely used in thefield of biomedical research, electrochemistry, nanomaterial synthesis, and thepetrol industry.
Application
Rubidium chloride can be used as a dopant to synthesize magnesium oxide nanoparticles.
It can be used to enhance the performance of OLEDs. For example, a thin layer of RbCl inserted into a multilayer OLED (ITO/NPB/Alq3/Al) can significantly increase its electroluminescent efficiency. This can happen due to the lowering of the electron injection barrier and enhancing the recombination rate induced by trap sites provided by the RbCl layer.
Rubidium chloride (RbCl) can also be used as a non-invasive biomarker.
It may also be used to study the chronotypic effects of Rb in hamsters.
