- Reactant in the preparation of melamine trisulfonic acid (MTSA) which is used as a catalyst in various reactions.
- Nitrogen source for the large scale synthesis of nitrogen-doped graphene (NG).
- Heterogeneous catalyst in combination with lewis acid ZnI2 for conversion of carbon dioxide to cyclic carbonates.
