Application
Owing to their plasmonic properties nanoparticles of gold and silver find broad range of applications extending from diagnostics to molecular detection, photothermal and microwave-based therapies, and nanotoxicology. Colloidal silver nanoparticles also find applications in antimicrobial coatings, electronics and photovoltaics, and surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) whereas the colloidal gold nanoparticles find applications in lateral flow assays (immunochromatographic assays) and as TEM labels and size standards.
Our silver nanoplates (a.k.a. silver nanodisks) exhibit surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect and, depending upon their diameter and thickness, possess resonance peak between 550nm t0 1050nm. The extremely high absorbing and scattering cross section of these nanoplates make them useful for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), photovoltaics, molecular detection, and photothermal cancer therapies. The presence of silica shell on silver nanoplates provides robust surface and enhances their stability in variety of solvents. The silica shell offers a versatile surface for attaching functional groups or creating hydrophobic & hydrophilic surfaces. The presence of silica shell on the surface of silver nanoplates also allows their easier deposition onto substrates and incorporation into different solvents, resins, and curable materials while protecting them from aggregation and preserving their optical properties.

Preparation Note
DO NOT FREEZE. Store at 2-8C and away from light when not in use to maximize shelf life. Nanomaterials can be sensitive to high and low pH conditions and high salt concentrations. Use caution when changing environmental conditions as particles may aggregate.
