On Chemistry - Organosulfur Chemistry

This book provides a clear, concise introduction to the chemistry of organosulfur compounds, many of which are important to life. A general introduction to acquaint and inform the reader is followed by Chapters 2,3 and 4 in which the preparation and chemical properties of divalent, tricoordinate and tetracoordinate organosulfur compounds are discussed. Chapters 5 and 6 examine the applications of organosulfur compounds in organic synthesis and compare and contrast organoselenium chemistry with organosulfur chemistry. Examples are chosen to highlight and explain characteristic features of organosulfur chemistry. Further reading lists are provided to guide students.
