4-Vinylphenol solution has been used as an HPLC internal standard during the identification of 4-vinyl derivatives formed via decarboxylation of hydroxycinnamic acids extracted from corn cobs using phenolic acid decarboxylase (PAD) enzyme extracted from Lactobacillus plantarum.
