General description

Xtractite sorbent pellets provide selective, rapid and economical removal of radionuclides, heavy metals and actinides. Xtractite sorbent contains a high density reagent on large surface area pellets and have a high affinity for metal adsorption of large quantities of heavy metal ions.

The high density reagent reduces radiation release from the radionuclide-loaded pellets while the refractory nature of the sorbent prevents radiation or heat damage to the loaded pellets.

Application

  • Water treatment
  • Treatment of radioactive effluents
  • Industrial waste water treatment
  • Environmental remediation
  • Analytical and research applications

Features and Benefits

  • Higher capacity for removal of heavy metals compared to polymer based resins
  • Little or no interference by lighter ions
  • Lower costs /volume compared to polymer based resins
  • Significantly more resistant to radiation and heat
