Phosphatidylglycerol (PG) is a membrane lipid found in the inner membrane of E. coli.

Application

E. coli PG or L-α-phosphatidylglycerol (E. coli) (sodium salt) might be used:
  • as a lipid antigen to trigger human T cell response
  • as a standard in mass spectrometry analysis of mammalian cell entry (MCE) proteins bound to phosphatidylglycerol (PG)
  • n bacterial model membranes to evaluate the lipid-lipid interactions to serve potentially as a model for validation of novel antibacterial agents
