General description
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is mucosal layer constituent, which can serve as a surfactant.
The list of Phosphatidylcholine products offered by Avanti is designed to provide compounds having a variety of physical properties. Products available include short chain (C3-C8 are water soluble and hygroscopic), saturated, multi-unsaturated and mixed acid PC′s. All of the products are purified by HPLC, and special precautions are taken to protect the products for oxidization and hydrolysis.
Application
05:0 PC (D5PC/1,2-dipentanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used:
- as a component in the preparation of endophilin Bin−Amphiphysin−Rvs domain (EndoBAR) deforms membranes
- in binary mixtures to study the effects of lipid chain length and unsaturation on bicelles stability
- in the preparation of homo and heterooligomers for ESi MSMS studies
