General description
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is an important component of the mucosal layer of the colon and is the most common phospholipid in mammalian membranes. It is a strong bilayer-forming lipid.
Application
18:1-14:0 PC has been used as a phospholipid standard to extract phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs).
Biochem/physiol Actions
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) functions as a surfactant within the mucus to form a hydrophobic surface to inhibit bacterial penetrance. It is used to treat fat embolism. Phosphatidylcholine lowers the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.
Packaging
5 mL Clear Glass Sealed Ampule (850474C-25mg)
