General description

14:0 PEG350 PE is a polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugated phospholipid. PEGylated phospholipids are amphiphilic polymers.
Poly (ethylene glycol)s (PEGs)- phosphatidylethanolamines (PEs) lipids are anionic double tailed lipids. Its structure contains a wedge shaped bulky hydrophilic polar head.

Application

14:0 PEG350 PE is suitable for use in the preparation of floating bilayer lipid membrane to mimic the environment of a biological cell membrane.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Liposome formulation commonly incorporates polyethylene glycol (PEG) conjugated phospholipids, as they efficiently maintain their stereochemistry. They are also used as drug carriers. The formation of mixed micelles is supported by the use of highly concentrated PEG-lipids.
Poly (ethylene glycol)s (PEGs)- phosphatidylethanolamines (PEs) lipids are key constituents of sterically stabilized liposomes, which are used as drug vehicles.
