General description
The MAS-100 Sirius Microbial Air Sampler is a portable, battery-operated device designed for active air sampling to collect and quantify microorganisms in ambient air, utilizing an impaction principle similar to the Andersen air sampler.
It provides a user-friendly solution for environmental air monitoring, ensuring high efficiency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance. The sampler achieves excellent recovery efficiency, with a nominal d50 value of 1.1 µm, and both physical and biological efficiencies validated according to ISO 14698 and EN 17141.
The instrument operates at flow rates of 100 and 200 standard liters per minute (SLPM) and can be easily adjusted for various plate formats, including 55 mm contact plates and 90 mm settle plates. The included perforated lid is designed for 90 mm plates at 100 SLPM, while the MAS-100 Sirius Flex (1.17881) can be ordered for different lids and flow rates.
The magnetic closure mechanism for perforated lids allows for quick and easy plate exchanges.
Equipped with built-in, browser-based software compliant with 21 CFR Part 11, the device displays finalized sampling data on a touchscreen as a barcode for seamless transfer to LIMS or other Environmental Monitoring systems. An optional Wi-Fi dongle enables wireless applications.
The Sirius also prioritizes convenience and safety, featuring an early warning system for deviations from calibrated flow rates or defective perforated lids and performing automated self-checks for exhaust filter presence as well as correct lid choice.

Application
The air sampler is designed for active air monitoring in cleanrooms acc. to current GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidance such as EU GMP Annex 1, FDA aseptic guide.
The instrument can be operated either in non-controlled areas as well as in cleanrooms environments up to grade A (or ISO 5) without compromising the viable and non-viable particle limits supported by an efficient exhaust HEPA filter. The housing is made of stainless steel with glass covered touchscreen for efficient cleaning and disinfection. The shape of the air path and air exhaust prevents turbulences of unidirectional air flow.
