G-Proteins, Bovine Brain, Functional
form
liquid
General description
Mixture of purified pertussis toxin-sensitive G-proteins from bovine brain. Suitable for functional studies of G-proteins. Contains the following heterotrimeric G-proteins: Goα (4 - 5 μM), Giα-1 (1 - 2 μM), Giα-2 (1 - 2 μM), and Giα-3 (<1 μM). The βγ-subunit complex associated with these α-subunits represents the predominant form found in bovine brain. Characterized by GTPγS binding activity and by immunoblotting using subunit-specific antisera.
Application
Suitable for GTPγS binding assay and Immunoblotting
Preparation Note
Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-70°C)
Other Notes
Characterized by GTPγS binding and in immunoblot using subunit-specific antisera. Titration is recommended.

Antisera AS/6 and 7, raised against a synthetic peptide KENLKDCGLF corresponding to the carboxyl-terminal decapeptide of transducin-alpha, react on immunoblots with purified transducin-alpha and with proteins of 40-41 kDa in all tissues tested. The latter represent one or more forms
