General description
Full-length, recombinant, human, lipocortin-II fused at the N-terminus to His•Tag and S•Tag sequences and expressed in E. coli. This preparation is qualified for use as a substrate for protein tyrosine kinases in in vitro assays. Lipocortin-II is a Ca2+-binding protein whose affinity for calcium is increased by anionic phospholipids. It binds two calcium ions with high-affinity and crosslinks plasma membrane phospholipids with actin and the cytoskeleton and is involved with exocytosis. It is known to be phosphorylated at Tyr23 by Src and at Ser25 by PKC. It is also a substrate for a variety of other protein tyrosine kinases.
