General description
A cell-permeable, photostable, bodipy-derived fluorescent probe that can be used for real-time imaging of lysosomal dynamics in proliferating cells undergoing mitosis. Undergoes rapid re-localization from cytoplasm to nucleus during cell division, but does not interfere with cell cycle. Displays a sharp increase in intensity during mitosis and its fluorescence displays high sensitivity to acidic environment (pH 2-4). Can also be used for time-dependent whole-body in vivo imaging of tumor xenografts (CDy6 stained HeLa cells, s.c.) in BALB/c nude mice up to 21 days. Exhibits greater brightness, higher photostability, and significantly reduced toxicity when compared to LysoTracker Red, LysoTracker Green, LysoSensor Green and HOE33342. Abs max: 570 nm; Em max: 585 with a quantum yield of 0.89.
