General description
A cell-permeable synthetic peptide derived from the proline-rich region near the N-terminal of p21 activated kinase1 (PAK1) and fused with HIV TAT. Shown to selectively binds to the non-catalytic region of tyrosine kinase adaptor protein (NCK) and disrupts the cellular transport and localization of PAK. Shown to specifically inhibit endothelial cell migration and contractility (IC50 = 2 µM) and block bFGF-induced angiogenesis in a chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay. Does not exhibit any deleterious effects on endothelial cell survival and growth.
