Recombinant, human α-synuclein expressed in E. coli. α-Synuclein is an acidic neuronal protein of 140 amino acids (amino acid residues 1 -140).
Application
α-Synuclein, Human, Recombinant, E. coli has been used to enhance the filter trap assay for identification of aggregated alpha-synuclein in brain samples.
Biochem/physiol Actions
α-Synuclein been implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, and more recently, to be an important regulatory component of vesicular transport in neuronal cells.
