Gene Information

General description

DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit RPB3 (UniProt: P19387; also known as RPB3, RNA polymerase II subunit 3, RNA polymerase II subunit B3, DNA-directed RNA polymerase II 33 kDa polypeptide (RPB33), DNA-directed RNA polymerase II subunit C, RPB31) is encoded by the POLR2C gene (Gene ID: 5432) in human. RPB3 is one of 12 subunits that make up the complete RNA polymerase, Pol II, the primary RNA polymerase in cellular metabolism. RPB3 is part of the core element of Pol II complex. RPB3 has a central large cleft and the clamp element that moves to open and close the cleft during RNA synthesis. RPB3 naturally localizes to the nucleus and expressed in all cell types and tissues. RPB3 also plays critical roles in RNA splicing and capping, a key items of RNA function.
Target molecular weight ~ 35 kDa observed. 31.441 kDa calculated. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding 35 amino acidsfrom the C-terminal region of human RPB3.

Application

Tested applications

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected RPB3 in HeLa, RAW 264.7, NIH/3T3, and Rat2 cell lysates.

Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user.
This rabbit polyclonal, Cat. No. ABE999, detects RPB3. It targets an epitope within 35 amino acids from the C-terminal region.

Physical form

Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.

Preparation Note

Recommended storage: +2°C to +8°C.

Analysis Note

Evaluated by Western Blotting in HUVEC cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected RPB3 in HUVEC cell lysate.
