General description

N-myc-interactor (UniProt Q13287; also known as N-myc and STAT interactor, Nmi) is encoded by the NMI gene (Gene ID 9111) in human. Nmi is expressed in all adult and fetal tissues except brain and skin and is shown to be more abundant in fetal liver. It interacts with all STATs, except STAT2 and augments STAT-mediated transcription in response to IL-2 and gamma-interferon. Interestingly, Nmi lacks an intrinsic transcriptional activation domain; instead, it enhances the association of CBP/p300 coactivator proteins with STAT1 and STAT5. Higher expression of Nmi has been reported in myeloid leukemia that also express higher levels of c-Myc. Ref.: Zhu, M., et al. (1999). Cell 96, 121-130.
~39 kDa observed. 35.06 kDa calculated. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Immunogen

GST-tagged recombinant human N-Myc Interactor N-terminal fragment.
