Gene Information
human ... FADS1(3992)
General description
Fatty acid desaturase 1, also known as Delta (5 fatty acid desaturase or D5D or Delta (5 desaturase or Delta-5 desaturase, and encoded by the gene name FADS1 or FADSD5, is a member of the fatty acid desaturase (FADS) family. Desaturase enzymes regulate unsaturation of fatty acids through the introduction of double bonds between defined carbons of the fatty acyl chain. FADS family members are considered fusion products composed of an N-terminal cytochrome b5-like domain and a C-terminal multiple membrane-spanning desaturase portion, both of which are characterized by conserved histidine motifs.
~52 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to human FADS1.
Application
Anti-FADS1, clone EPR6898, Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody is an antibody against FADS1 for use in Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Immunocytochemistry.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:100-250 dilution from a representative lot detected FADS1 in human heart tissue.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: A 1:100-1,000 dilution from a representative lot detected FADS1 in HepG2 cells.
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100-250 dilution from a representative lot detected FADS1 in A549 cells.

Preparation Note
Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
Note: Variability in freezer temperatures below -20°C may cause glycerol containing solutions to become frozen during storage.
