General description
Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~21 kDa H-, K-, and N-Ras proteins.
Recognizes the ~21 kDa H-, K-, and N-Ras proteins containing aspartic acid at position 12.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide (KLVVVGADGVGK) corresponding to amino acids 5-16 of Ras (H, K, or N) with Asp at position 12

Does not react with rasGly-12 or rasVal-12 p21′s. Antibody should be titrated for optimal results in individual systems.
Physical form
Lyophilized from 20 mM ammonium bicarbonate, 100 µg BSA.
Preparation Note
Reconstitute the lyophilized antibody with sterile PBS, pH 7.4, or sterile 20 mM Tris-saline (20 mM Tris containing 0.15 M NaCl), pH 7.4; product will be more stable if 0.1% sodium azide is included (do not add azide if antibody is to be used with viable cells). Lyophilized antibody should be resuspended at 4°C with occasional gentle mixing for at least 2 h. Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C) for long-term storage or refrigerate (4°C) for short-term storage with 0.1% sodium azide. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.

K-Ras-induced lung cancer is a very common disease, for which there are currently no effective therapies. Because therapy directly targeting the activity of oncogenic Ras has been unsuccessful, a different approach for novel therapy design is to identify critical Ras

KRAS mutations are the earliest events found in approximately 90% of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs). However, little is known as to why KRAS mutations preferentially occur in PDACs and what processes/factors generate these mutations. While abnormal carbohydrate metabolism is associated
