General description

4-(Dioctylamino)-4′-(trifluoroacetyl)azobenzene (ETH 4001) is an azo dye which exhibits a photochemical reactivity observed for donor-acceptor azo dyes with photoisomerism. It is used in calorimetric sensor layers.

Application

ETH 4001 may be used in developing a new optical polymer-based sensor which helps in recognizing amines in organic solvents with high sensitivity.

Other Notes

Dye employed in sensors for amines; Preparation of a membrane with high sensitivity for humidity
