2-(Chloromethyl)quinoline hydrochloride reacts with syn-proximal bis[(2-pyridylmethyI)oxy]calix[4]arene in the presence of Cs2CO3 to give chiral calix[4]arenes.

Application

2-(Chloromethyl)quinoline hydrochloride has been used in the preparation of:
  • 4-chlorophenyl 4-(quinolin-2-ylmethyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate
  • 4-chlorophenyl 4-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate
  • 4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl 4-(quinolin-2-ylmethyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate
