Application
- Along with magnesium chloride, to catalyze the conjugate addition of organomagnesium reagents to α,β-ethylenic ketones to form 1,4-addition products.
- To facilitate the addition of an amine to a nitrile to form an amidine, which on reduction forms tertiary amine.
- To catalyze the reaction of olefinic hydrocarbons with phenyl selenocyanate to form β-alkoxyalkyl phenyl selenide.
