General description
Ethylene glycol diethyl ether (1,2-Diethoxyethane) is a polyether. Its thermal desorption on Ru(001) surface has been reported to occur in 3 states. Desorption energy was reported to be 58-62kJ/mol.
Application
Ethylene glycol diethyl ether may be used in the preparation of 1,4-dioxanes and alkyl chlorides, via reaction with NbCl5 at room temperature.
