General description

Kjeldahl′s method is generally used for the determination of nitrogen in proteins. There are many Kjeldahl catalyst, like copper catalyst Kjeldahl method can be used for the determination of crude protein in feed materials. Mercuric oxide Kjeldahl catalyst is a bit toxic and can be replaced by titanium dioxide, for estimation of total nitrogen content in cereal grains.
